https:\/\/ottawatourism.ca\/en\/media\/resources\/media-releases\/shine-on-awards-2025<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\nOTTAWA, March 6, 2025 \u2014 <\/strong>Yesterday evening, Ottawa Tourism welcomed hundreds of members of the local tourism community for the third annual iteration of the Shine On Awards to recognize customer service excellence and celebrate the frontline tourism industry. The event was held at the Canadian Museum of History and included a networking event attended by Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, followed by an awards presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAward presenters included Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, Stefanie Siska, C\u2019est Bon Ottawa Co-owner, President and General Manager and Ottawa Tourism Board Chair; and Genevi\u00e8ve Dumas, Incoming Board Chair of the Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Association and General Manager of the Fairmont Chateau Laurier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Shine On Awards were developed by Ottawa Tourism to recognize excellent service in all areas of frontline hospitality. A panel of industry experts evaluated the nominations that were collected during the 2024 calendar year and decided on the winners for each category, as well as a final Shine On Grand Prize Winner for customer service excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The following winners were recognized for their exceptional service:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Pirami Anandasundaram, from Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market, in the \u201cExceptional Service: Hotel\u201d category.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Elisabeta Jurca, from The Westin Ottawa, in the \u201cExceptional Service: Heart of House\u201d category.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Rapha\u00ebl Fitzgerald-Biernath, from the Fairmont Ch\u00e2teau Laurier, in the \u201cExceptional Service: Guest Relations\u201d category.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Robin Courtiade, from Parc Omega, in the \u201cExceptional Service: Restaurant\/Culinary\u201d category.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Colin Lemire, from the Royal Canadian Mint, in the \u201cExceptional Service: Shopping\/Tour Services\u201d category.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

“Il s’appelle Robin, il a 28 ans…il ne souhaitait pas marcher dans les pas de son Grand-P\u00e8re Michel Ma\u00eetre d’H\u00f4tel, et encore moins suivre le chemin \u00e9toil\u00e9 empreint\u00e9 par son P\u00e8re Denis…mais, rien ne sert de lutter contre son destin quand on tombe dans la marmite d\u00e8s son plus jeune \u00e2ge…Apr\u00e8s l’obtention de son BTS H\u00f4tellerie – Restauration option B au Lyc\u00e9e Guillaume Tirel \u00e0 Paris, Robin part au Canada afin de suivre sa propre qu\u00eate d’identit\u00e9 professionnelle. C’est dans le grand nord du Qu\u00e9bec qu’il posera ses valises, \u00e0 la Pourvoirie du Cap au Leste, il y restera 2 ans et 6 six mois en qualit\u00e9 de Maitre d’H\u00f4tel …mais la neige abondante et constante a eu raison de sa motivation…il lui fallait retrouver le soleil…apr\u00e8s un passage au Jules Verne \u00e0 Paris ; c’est dans le Sud de la France qu’il fera deux nouvelles saisons en qualit\u00e9 de serveur, \u00e0 Monaco, puis \u00e0 Nice… et de nouveau, l’appel des grands espaces s’est fait entendre, le Canada, oui, mais avec moins de neige dira t’il…la d\u00e9termination de Robin le pousse donc \u00e0 repartir \u00e0 Montebello cette fois-ci au Parc Omega, Parc animalier en plein d\u00e9veloppement de gamme h\u00f4teli\u00e8re et d’offres de restauration. Robin prend la direction de l’un des restaurants du site pour le structurer et le faire conna\u00eetre… son enthousiasme, son professionnalisme et sa bienveillance font que le restaurant atteint tr\u00e8s vite ses objectifs et c’est tout naturellement que le nom de Robin apparait sur une liste de 120 pr\u00e9tendants \u00e0 l’Office du Tourisme d’Ottawa pour la s\u00e9lection des prix 2024-25 dans la cat\u00e9gorie “Service Exceptionnel : restaurants et gastronomie” … Robin est un comp\u00e9titeur, il le sait, ses deux prix de Champion de France en \u00e9quitation en 2011 et 2012 parlent pour lui… Apr\u00e8s une audition devant un jury d’experts, Robin est s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 dans la derni\u00e8re “short list” avec deux autres candidats…et c’est lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie officielle \u00e0 Ottawa, ce mercredi 5 mars 2025, que Robin est appel\u00e9 sur la sc\u00e8ne afin de recevoir son premier Prix du Service…Il s’appelle Robin Courtiade, et nous sommes fiers de lui…”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
